Our church body, The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, is a national group of 2.6 million members and over 6,000 congregations. We are brothers and sisters in Christ who have come together under the common confession of our faith. The members of Hope Lutheran Church are your neighbors. We are business people, nurses, teachers, and laborers in your community. We are also a loving family of believers in our Savior, Jesus Christ. We gather as a family in worship to receive the Good News of Christ’s free forgiveness and respond to His love in our deeds of care for each other and for all those around us. As the Lord has freely called us to be His family as an act of His love, we also seek to freely welcome others into our fellowship of faith and love. Visit us on Sunday to find out more!

What do Lutherans Believe?

As followers of Jesus Christ our beliefs are grounded solely in the Bible. A detailed confession of the beliefs of the Lutheran Church is recorded in a book entitled “The Book of Concord,” Our basic beliefs are summarized in the following statements of faith:

  • The Bible is God’s holy, inspired, inerrant Word (II Peter 1:21).
  • God is the creator of all things (Genesis1:1).
  • God is three persons in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
  • God is almighty, holy, righteous, without sin, and merciful (Leviticus 19:2; Matthew 19:26; Titus 3:5).
  • God’s Law, as revealed in the 10 Commandments, convicts us all of sin and our need for a Savior (Romans 3:20, 23).
  • God’s Gospel, as revealed in the life of Jesus Christ, grants us the free gift of forgiveness of our sins and eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • Jesus is the true God and the true man who died on the cross and rose again for the salvation of all people (John 3:16).
  • A relationship with Jesus through faith is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6).
  • God’s grace and love as well as our faith in Him are freely granted us by God through His means of grace: The Word and Sacraments, Baptism and Communion (Acts 2:38; John 20:31; and I Corinthians 10:16)

If you would like to learn more, or would like to join our fellowship, please contact us at (904) 677-4506. We are the “daughter church” of Grace Lutheran Church.  We believe that the entire Bible is the Word of God.  It is the only source of all we believe and teach.
