Come together for a heartwarming, intergenerational experience as we explore the timeless lessons drawn from the popular and long running “Mr Rogers Neighborhood” TV program. This weeklong evening program is designed to help individuals and families of all ages to connect, learn, and grow in understanding and kindness.
Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was intentionally designed to foster positive relationships and promote understanding among children. This program will use those same techniques in an intergenerational setting to build and foster better relationship skills among family members.
We will learn how to build relationships with others by learning from our family or neighbors, caring for them and their needs, modeling social amenities, and above all building trust and connections.
Hope's intergenerational "Won't You be My Neighbor" series will help participants to foster empathy, kindness, and understanding, among family members and provide valuable lessons for family relationships.
The session encourages connections, just as Mr. Rogers did, where strangers become friends and friends know and love each other just the way they are.
The activities during “Peace in the Neighborhood” encourages participants to embody the spirit of Mr. Rogers by fostering peace, compassion, and community in their own lives.
Everyone is valued and cherished—just the way they are. This session will help participants learn that embracing diversity and celebrating each other’s uniqueness fosters a stronger, more compassionate community.
Participants with how they can be a good neighbor to others, where they live, or around the world. They may share their own experiences at being a good neighbor and how others have been a good neighbor to them.
